Frank Calico started his career as an artist designing characters for board games and card sets, but soon after that began drawing his own comic books. Since then he’s worked with dozens of highly acclaimed animation studios and video game designers like Dreamworks, Riot Games, Acute games, and Webtoon where he created his own series “Red Compass”.
Calico has won awards for both his character designs and Manga drawing and continues to work as a character designer and creator in both Hong Kong and Spain.

What will you learn?
In this robust course you’ll learn a wide range of techniques and approaches to Character Design, We'll start with the fundamentals where you'll learn the basic tools you'll need to operate Clip Studio Pro as well as easy ways to manage the sketching process. Next we'll move on to the moderate level content where you'll learn everything you need to know to start creating characters: From drawing anatomy to drawing faces. During those lectures you’ll work on fun, exciting exercises designed to help you practice what you’ve learned and make sure you grasp each concept before moving on. During these exercises and lectures you'll learn necessities like coloring and how to develop your characters color palette. Inking, vector drawing tips and tricks (Like managing line weight) Posing your character. Lighting and cel shading, inverted shading. Using 3D models, and MUCH more!
You'll learn how to use the tools that most artists and cartoonists use to create modern looking characters and animations. Learning how to manipulate and leverage them is the only way to create competitive drawings.
